Hon. Patrick Pruaitch, MP
Minister
The Honourable Patrick Pruaitch who hails from the Aitape District in the Sandaun Province of Papua New Guinea, was born at his Ulau Village on 29 June 1964.
After completing his primary education at St. Vincent De Paul Primary Schoon at his village, Hon. Pruaitch continued to St. Ignatius High School where he did his grades 7-10.
In 1983, he was selected to do his Grades 11 and 12 at the Sogeri National High School in the Central Province. Following the successful completion of his Grade 12, he enrolled at the University of Papua New Guinea where he did his Bachelor of Economics Degree.
After graduating from the University, he joined the private sector for a period of 14 years. He resigned and contested the 2002 General Elections under the Aitape- Lumi Electorate which he won. He was re-elected in 2007.
During the last Parliment, he held the positions of Minister for Forest and Leader of Government Business. Hon. Pruaitch was appointed as Minister for Treasury and Finance in the new Somare-Temu led Government in August 2007.

Hon. Benjamin Poponawa, MP
Vice Minister
The Honourable Benjamin Poponawa was born on 28 January 1960 at Pakapena village, Tambul in the Western Highlands Province. He is married with 5 children.
In 1999, Mr Poponawa was awarded an MBA in Public Sector Management at the Central Queensland University in Brisbane, Australia, after completing his Graduate Diploma in Management in 1998 at the same Institute.
He was also awarded a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting in 1989 at the Deakin University of Melbourne, Australia, a Bachelor of Commerce in 1983 and Bachelor of Technology (Accounting) Degree in 1982 at the PNG University of Technology.
Honourable Poponawa is an Associate Member of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants and also a Member of the PNG Association of Accountants.
